Q. When is the last day to turn in the application?
A. We accept applications throughout the school year.
Q. Will my child need to take an entrance test?
A. Yes. All applicants for K-8th take a placement test. You will be contacted after your application is submitted to schedule testing.
Registration & Tuition
Q: How much is registration?
A: Our registration is $630 (non-refundable) for Kindergarten through 7th grade, $430 for Preschool, and $830 for 8th grade.
Q: How much is Tuition?
A: Please check the admissions page for the welcome packet that contains our current tuition.
Q: After being notified of acceptance when is the registration fee due?
A: If registration fees are not received within two weeks of acceptance, there is no guarantee of placement.
Q: Does your school use an automatic deduction payment company?
A: Yes, we use SMART Tuition for our tuition payments.
Q: Does the school have extended care? If so, do we have to pay the whole month in advance?
A: St. Leo the Great Catholic School’s Extended Care (for grades K-8) is open after school until 6PM. Charges are on an hourly basis and are added to the parent’s SMART Tuition account. Preschool has a different hourly rate. Please check the Preschool Extended Care program for more information.
Q: What are St. Leo the Great Catholic School’s accreditations?
A: St. Leo the Great Catholic School is an accredited school through Western Catholic Education Association (WCEA) and Western Association of Schools & Colleges (WASC). St. Leo’s received a six year accreditation for 2017-2022.
Q: When are your Open House dates?
A: Tuesday, October 12th – 6-8 PM; Thursday, November 9th – 8:30-10:30 AM
Q: Do you give tours if we miss the Open House?
A: Yes, just call the office at 408-293-4846 to schedule a tour.
Q: Do the students wear a uniform?
A: Yes. Uniforms can be obtained at Merry Mart Uniform.
Q: How often do students attend Mass?
A: The students attend Mass with their class once a week and once a month with the entire school on Wednesday. The students also can attend the Family Mass that is held one Sunday a month.
Q: How is the school keeping up with technology?
A: We have a 1:1 MacBook Air program for grades 5-8. Every classroom has a Mimio electronic whiteboard and document camera. Our elementary students also have access to iPads, Android tablets, and Chromebooks.
Extra -Curricular Activities
Q: If my child wants to join a sports team does he/she have to try out or are all students accepted to the team?
A: Students in grades 5-8 are eligible to participate. All are able to participate in the sport of their choice.
Q: Does the school have any after school programs?
A: Yes, students are welcome to join these programs. Each program has their specific set of requirements. Please contact the school office for more information.
