Saint Leo the Great offers multiple opportunities for students to participate in activities after school. We offer Athletics, Cheerleading, Cub Scouts, Tennis, Art, Soccer, Bricks4Kidz, Choir, and Drama.
After School Programs
Athletics is run by Mr. Joe Ramirez, the Athletic Director, along with the support of the Boosters. The students can participate in volleyball, basketball, soccer, flag football, track & field, and softball.
Saint Leo Cub Scouts
Saint Leo Cub Scouts meets once a week to learn about scouting and how to earn patches. The Saint Leo Pack is Unit 259 and includes students from Saint Leo’s as well as other surrounding schools. Not only do the boys get to participate in the annual pinewood derby, but they also go on field trips, like to the local firehouse.
Tennis is offered to beginners and is taught after school on campus. Young students are able to learn how to hold the racket and how to hit the ball. All courses are taught by a certified tennis instructor.
ArtHouse Kids is an afterschool art program that is an hour-long program, once a week, for six weeks. The students get to learn from the ArtHouse teacher techniques on how to paint and construct other pieces of art. Students get to take home all of the items that they create.
Bricks4Kidz is a dynamic program that offers students the opportunity to learn about engineering and architecture through LEGO design. All courses are specifically designed with the basics of engineering and architecture within a fun environment.
Soccer courses are offered by Soccer Mainia in the Spring. Students learn the skills of passing, ball control, cooperation, running, and many more. It’s a great opportunity for students to learn the skills of soccer in a safe environment.
Choir is offered to students in 3rd grade or older. They perform at the Christmas Program, Spring Sing, Atria Senior Home, Family Masses, and other major feast days. Students learn how to sing together in a group and blend their voices in song.
Drama is offered twice a year with the Starting Arts company. This fall, 2nd through 8th graders will be teaming up with St. Christopher students to put on the production of Annie Jr. All rehearsals are held at Saint Leo’s in the gym.
Cheerleading is an all-year program run by Mrs. Gracie Duffer. Students learn routines and cheer at athletic events.
